The Western Regional Offices and Audition Center represented an expansion of the organization’s facilities in the North Hollywood area. Through a decision to purchase a building and undergo a complete renovation of the space, the facility provided expanded meeting rooms, conference rooms, and an audition center complete with practice and warmup space; programs previously not provided in AEA owned spaces in the area.
Having worked with AEA on the New York City location, Dee Jay initially joined the project as consultant, supplementing a national project management firm. Dee Jay was later awarded the project replacing the previous firm and given the tasks to align the budget with scope, and also to reorganize the project team. Following a thorough reworking of the project approach, AEA was able to achieved the build out at a significantly reduced cost with the same programmatic and design elements. In addition to design and construction management, Dee Jay also served as advisor to AEA in leasing a portion of the space to the Actors Federal Credit Union.
Following the renovation of the building, Bankhead Real Estate has provided ongoing services to Actors’ Equity through major roof and HVAC upgrades, interior renovations to update office layout, and also the installation of exterior signage and wayfinding.
